Scrap Room Makeover

Last month I posted the before pics of my scrapping space. Well, it's time to show you some progress. While this is not The Grand Unveiling, it is some of the things that have influenced my decisions on this journey.

Might I say, I was inspired by these:

The teal colour, the haphazard numbers, the white...

The doodled birdie ...

The colour scheme of red, teal and white (and a dash of pink?) ...

(Lynne Marie's Matilda kit) and all that whimsey without clutter ...

My object was to declutter, air-ise and lighten up so I enjoyed working in here. Or even just being in here. And it worked.

First up, a new lick o' paint.
It's Dulux's Half Seafoam.

My favourite things to look across the room and see are:

My wooden initial. Can't explain why.
Unfortunately, when I was drilling the shelves, I dropped the monogram and it broke. Talk about heart-broken! Will have to trek to Bed, Bath n' Table to get another, if they still have them. Either that, or invest in some more super glue.

My white words: inspire, create, laugh. These words make me happy and make me willing to share my joy thru scrapping.

My new shelves. Cheap as chips, painted gloss white during a wonderful late-night session with my 5-year-old (who helped tremendously). Still need to touch up metal parts with seafoam paint.

I picked up the fake foliage at Target. Love homewares at Target. The shelves will be used for quick-grab stuff, like my cameras and camcorder and iPod etc. Stuff that needs to be out of reach of 2yo fingers but easy to grab in a hurry.

To be Continued ....

Welcome back Chickies!

Katharyn here with another Friday Freebie template to keep you scrapping happily and easily throughout your weekend!

I've made a pretty simple looking template, but wait until you see what some of the other Creative Team members did with it! Amazing! It's always a buzz to see how differently layouts turn out when they all began with the same thing.

Grab it here.

And here's my take on it, using the Oh So Sassy kit, released this week at The Digi Chick.

Here's Kristin's, using the Oh So Studious kit.

Leila's, also with Oh So Studious.

And Trina's, using my own personnal favourite Jennifer Fox Design kit, Lil Dude.

Well, I hope this has perked up your scrappy mojo for the weekend. Enjoy!

If you want to return the love, leave us a comment at the end of this post - we'll send good creative vibes your way.

Friday Freebie: LT 009

Whoa. Nothing exciting to report here. Had a lovely birthday and Mother's Day. Thank you for all your well wishes. And a great big hug and pat of appreciation to all the other mums out there who devote countless hours to their families, all just for the love of it. You are awesome people. Remember that next time you feel taken for granted, ok?

Just a quick note to let you know my Friday Freebie layered template will be available to download from Jennifer Fox's blog here, on their Friday (our Saturday - I think they are about 12 hours or so behind us). (DOWNLOAD LINK EXPIRED)

It looks like this.

And I've made this layout Sticky Girl to sample it, using Jennifer Fox Designs' "Oh So Sassy" kit, available May 13.

And it will be packaged up like this:

Make sure to leave some love. We know you're out there.....!

iNSD layouts

Well, I got to spend the entire weekend scrapping uninterrupted recently. It had been  scheduled for long, long time and I was definitely super excited about it.

There were heaps of freebies to be had from all my favourite blogs, but my internet connection was so dodgy [still is :( ] that I didn't get to a lot of tem. Each web page took tens of minutes to upload. No exaggeration.

Anyway, I participated in a lot of challenges at Mscraps. And here are the pages I made on the fly. Some won me some prize coupons to their store too!

My favourite, Sublime, which I didn't end up entering in any contest, I just wanted to use the kit from Moi, at the French Frog shop.

All of the rest use Mscraps products.

Made for an invisible scrap lift!

A lift of Xavier Rudd's White Moth CD cover.

And a card cover for my mum last weekend .... This uses SAS Designs "Every Day" kit.

iNSD hangover and Friday Freebie Template!

All I know is that this body does not recover from all-nighter's like it once used to at university!! I spent nearly all my time at Mscraps playing challenges like: 50 questions (doing an invisible scraplift with just 10 clues) CD cover challenge; Speed scrapping; Scraplifting a store CT, Blog trains and more.

And gee, I really need to recover. Still.

Thanks to all those lovely chickies I spent my nights with! Made heaps of new friends and we all had a lot of laughs. Picked up a few prizes too, so I'm rockin'.

Well, I will post some of my entries later down the track, but I know a lot of you lurkers out there have come to make a beeline for the freebie, so here it is:

Download from blog Kaisercraft from Saturday, May 8.

And my layout sample using it, made with Kaisercraft's old kit Apple Tree.
